Stephen is a left sided utility player, equally at home as a fullback, winger or attacking midfielder. He spent his early career at Rotherham, coming from their Youth Academy. He signed a two year deal with the Millers in 2007, and he has been scouted by several premiership teams. He had a severe injury in 2008, with a double fracture of his leg after a collision with the MK Dons goalkeeper. He returned for the final game of 2008-09 against Exeter City. He has also appeared on Come Dine with me alongside the Chuckle Brothers in February 2010, making him eligible for I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. He joined Celtic on loan from Rotherham, before being released from the Millers in 2011, after which he joined Conference North champions Alfreton Town. Unable to settle at Alfreton, he re-joined Celtic. Obviously too good a player for the Conference North, he represented England in the C Team, attracting attention from higher up the pyramid, and joined Southend on their pre-season tour in 2012. That move never came off, and he joined Guiseley for a short while, before making the move to Forest Green Rovers. Over his two seasons with the Nailers, he only made a dozen appearances, and in 2014 moved to Southport. With only half a dozen appearances at the Sandgrounders, Broges came back to the 'Fold to rejoin Celtic for a short spell before joining Gainsborough Trinity in the same season. After leaving Trinity in 2016 he has had spells at North Ferriby, Boston United, Spennymoor Town and most recently Buxton, before coming back for his third spell at Celtic.
