Tony is one of the finest characters in non-league. He joined Celtic from Prescot Cables in September 1997, going onto make 178 appearances and score 55 goals, including 20+ in the championship winning season. Sully (or Tino as an alternative nickname from the fans) was a fast paced forward who loved to run at defenders, and had an excellent eye for goal. He played alongside several strike partners, most notably, Lee Trundle. part of the Treble Winning Squad, winning the league, the Presidents Cup and the Cheshire Senior Cup. In matches where he was suspended or injured, Sully would join the fans on the terraces, an act which endeared him to the fans. After winning the treble, Tony was one of the players to follow inspirational manager Phil Wilson to Southport in 2001, where he went onto feature in more than 20 games, finding the net 3 times including a brace against Northwich. In 2003, Sully joined Altrincham but struggled to get into the starting eleven, making fourteen appearances, and scoring once, against Blyth. In 2003, he once again rejoined Phil Wilson, this time at Lancaster City, where he established himself again as a fans favourite, scoring a memorable goal against Celtic, with a scorpion kick the drew applause around the ground. After Lancaster, Sully moved on to Chorley until 2005.

After leaving football, Tony moved into management, becoming probably the most successful manager Camel Laird have ever had, leaving to join Witton Albion in 2014. Tony left Witton in 2015 after failing to prevent their relegation, and joins Celtic as first team coach. When Liam Watson departed at the start of the 2016/17 season, Sully also sadly departed.

Sully made many memorable appearances, too many to list individually, so his own words when asked about his most memorable game:
There have been too many to choose from, but my debut when I got Man of the Match was class; and my first hat-trick against Morecambe was right up there, especially as it was in the Conference. Away against Accrington and scoring three was another special day as was the FA Cup against Merthyr Tydfil when I hit the goal that clinched our place in the first round proper. The first time I heard: "He's black, he's Scouse, he's gonna rob your house: TINO! TINO!" I knew then I really had become a good player. To be fair just being at the club was special for me, I was picked up from local Sunday football and to be told I was going to play in the Vauxhall Conference, as it was known, was pure quality, but my best game (and not cause of the performance) had to be Droylsden, away, when we clinched the title. Just to see all the fans and knowing that we had won the treble. I love the memory of Pace's face when he wouldn't let the cameras in to see us: pure class; standing on the wall inside the Butchers Arms with the fans all around us jumping a singing Celtic songs, it was even better for me because my two uncles were both there and the look on their faces was priceless.
