Craig is a highly skilled goalkeeper who founded Reflex Goalkeeping Coaching school, and is one of the keeper coaches at Burnley's prestigious academy. He started at Altrincham's youth academy and later Crewe Alexander's. Since leaving ther academy, Craig has had a series of clubs. Curzon Ashton, Witton Albion, FC Halifax Town, Garforth Town and Burscough. It was at Burscough that Ellison came into his own with a string of impressive performances. A move to Vauxhall Motors ensued, but a serious injury sidelined him. On his return to fitness, he rejoined Celtic, but after thirteen goals in three games decided he'd come back too quickly and left again. He made another appearance when Joe Slinn was injured, away at Witton.
