It was at Radcliffe where he began to really shine, scoring 97 goals in 125 games for the Manchester outfit. His goal scoring exploits were such that they propelled him into the record books when he scored in 14 consecutive league games (Ruud Van Nistelrooy holds the Premiership record with a mere 8!). This run started against Droylsden, and finished three months later against Worksop, when he narrowly missed the opportunity to continue his run. It took in a brace of hat-tricks against Vauxhall Motors and Harrogate, and eventually took him to Shrewsbury town in December 2003 when the Conference promotion hopefuls paid ?20,000 for his services.
Despite helping the Conference team back into the league, manager Jimmy Quinn quickly moved to send him out on loan, attempting to send him to Sweden (Jody refused), before loaning him to Accrington Stanley in August 2004. He impressed the Lancashire outfit enough to warrant putting a bid to sign him permanently, but Droylsden beat them to the signature, taking him to the Butchers Arms in September 2004. After a poor start to the 2005/2006 campaign, manager Dave Pace wanted to shake up his team, and Celtic did not hesitate, jumping in to sign this proven goal scorer, something they had attempted to do twice before. Third time lucky! Unfortunately, a nasty injury sustained at Hyde left him off the field for much of his time at the club, and he never found that rich vein of form he'd enjoyed elsewhere and was sold back to Droylsden, on 26th May 2006.
With Droylsden he got back into the Conference, and in his second stint there scored ten times in forty-one appearances. A spell at Torquay kept him in the conference, before a move to Burton Albion, though he failed to get regular starts there. A spell on loan at Altrincham and an even briefer spell in the USA with the Maryland Monachs finished with a move back to his spirtual home in Radcliffe, and then onto Salford City, before finally coming back to Bower Fold on 26th January 2010, now aged 31. However, one month into the 2010/11 season, Jody found he could not commit to full time training, and departed the club again, to join back up with Droylsden.
