Game off - Hednesford

Bad day at the office

A Jody Banim piece of magic was all that Celtic had to take away from Corby as the poor run continued with a second half hammering from the Steelmen.

Banim latched onto a through ball from Keith Briggs before taking on two defenders midway through the second half. The stop, turn and curling shot was right out of his playbook, over the keeper's outstretched arm to give Celtic the lead.

It was a lead they held until nearly half time when Liam Mettham met a corner with a great header that Carnell couldn't reach.

The second half was one way traffic. Celtic held out for quarter of an hour before Jack Defty broke through and put Corby into the lead. He got his second latching onto Mettam's pull back and sweeping home, but not before Glenn Walker headed home from a right wing cross. Defty's hattrick came just before the end of the game, when the Celtic defence backed off at the edge of the box, and he let fly a hopeful effort that crept in the bottom corner.

A day best forgotten.
