Celtic Draw At Home With Buxton In The FA Trophy
By Deborah Taylor

Buxton's chances were zero, and, for the most part, so were Celtic's as the two teams cancelled each other out.

After Chris Sharp had volleyed wide of the mark, Matty Wolfenden twice went close, once with a grass skimmer that flew the wrong side of the post, the other trying to latch onto Scott Bakkor's low cross, but the closest either team came to scoring was when Wolfenden lifted Liam Tongue's whipped in ball back to Sharp. Sharp's header was destined for goal, but last ditch defending from Tom Dean headed the ball out from under the crossbar.

The second half was more of the same. Tongue tried his luck from thirty-five yards, but it was watched all the way in by Theo Roberts. Roberts had more on his plate in the following few minutes as Bakkor was a stud's width away from converting Neil Kengni's low cross and it required an exceptional save from Roberts to deny Tongue's superb strike from the edge of the box, the keeper flying to his right to push the ball onto the post. The ball was half cleared to Greg Wilkinson, but his twenty-five yards strike was always rising.

Celtic prodded and poked at the visiting defence, but they held firm, forcing a replay on Tuesday night as the two teams meet for the third time in ten days.
