Rock Solid
By Six Yard Sam

Celtic put in a rock solid defensive performance, with Blyth battling hard but rarely getting even a sniff of a chance. At the other end, it was a different story, with Ian Dixon clearing off the line from an Andy Hayward attempt. Somehow, Blyth survived everything that Celtic threw at them, with a great many scrambled clearances and a fair few decent saves from Turns in the Blyth nets. It took over an hour before a Scott Bonsall through ball freed Ian Monk fro a side footed finish that gave the visitors all three points. After the goal went in Blyth upped their game, and forced Celtic onto the back foot, but the defence remained solid.
