Ian started his career in the Lancashire Amateur Leagues before joining Burnley in 1991. He then moved onto Clitheroe for a season in 1992. He was an ever present feature of their squad for a season before moving to Ashton United while they were in the Unibond First Division. A season later, and he moved on to join Macclesfield, and was part of the side that won promotion from the Unibond First division into the Conference. He stayed with the Shrimps for two years before joining Leigh RMI in 1998, where he has been a stalwart of their side ever since. Originally an out and out striker, he has moved into midfield, and of late has been a major supplier of goals for the Railway men. He was voted Player's Player of the year for the 02/03 season at RMI.
After departure of Dave Miller as manager, Ian decided to call it a day himself having held off his retirement as a favour to Dave. He may have only scored 6 goals, but every one of them got Celtic points. | Date | Opposition | Competition | Season | H/A | Score | Lineups | Goals | Assists | R | Y | Sub |
