We’re thrilled to confirm the signing of striker Josh Quarless from City of Liverpool.

The 6'7" forward arrives at Celtic after an impressive season with City of Liverpool, where he netted 19 times including twice against Celtic as his former side reached the NPL West play-off final.

Josh has scored a number of goals during his career becoming one of the standout players in the Northern Premier League. His former clubs include City of Liverpool, Runcorn Linnets, Widnes, 1874 Northwich and Burscough.

Switching from the Purps to the Celts, Josh said: “I’m delighted to sign for such a big Club. After speaking with the gaffer, it was apparent about the ongoing project and what the ambitions of the Club are.

“I can’t wait to get started and help this Club get back to where it belongs.

Manager James Kinsey discussed our new striker, adding: “We obviously played against Josh twice last season and saw his qualities and we also went to watch City of Liverpool play Runcorn Linnets in the county cup where Josh was absolutely unplayable.

“When we put together our list of targets for next season, Josh was absolutely top of the list but we never felt we could make it work with him being happy at City of Liverpool. When he became available, we acted quickly to ensure we could sign him and we are delighted to have managed to do that.

“The one issue we had last season was that we never really had a 9 that we could play into. When under the cosh, it is difficult to get out if your centre forward can’t hold the ball, or bring others into play.

“Josh is a presence in both boxes and will provide us with a big goal threat. We’re made up with signing him!”
