Author: Taran Dhamrait - Thu 30 May 24We’re proud to announce that Stalybridge Celtic Under 21’s midfielder Prince Anuniru has signed a first team contract with the Club for the 2024-25 season!
Prince, part of last season’s double league and cup winning Under 21’s squad picked up the Players’ Player of the Season award after a fantastic season, playing 24 games and netting four goals in the process.
He spent part of last season on dual registration at West Didsbury and Chorlton, featuring for the North West Counties side for the final stages of the season.
He’ll now step up to become a permanent member of Celtic’s first team, joining James Kinsey’s side on a first team contract.
James Kinsey said: “Prince was somebody we monitored closely last season. He was fantastic for our U21s and really showed a desire to break into the first team.
“He went on dual reg with West Didsbury and Chorlton and did really well. On the final game of the season for us, he put in a man of the match performance and we can’t wait to watch him progress further.
“It shows that we have a clear pathway at Stalybridge Celtic and I’m looking forward to working with Prince next season.”
Celtic Under 21’s Managers Garry Jones and Leo Inneh added: “The award of a contract is well-deserved for a player who had an outstanding season with our NW League and Cup ‘double winning’ U21s squad, topped off by receipt of the U21 ‘Player of the Year’ award.
“Prince will be joined in preseason by other members of the U21 squad, who have all shown great potential for progression. These developments demonstrate a clear commitment to developing local talent and providing a pathway from youth football, through to our first team, something the Club should be very proud of.
