Celtic Score Six In First Pre Season Friendly
By Taran Dhamrait

Celtic played their first fixture in 148 days as Cheadle Town arrived at Bower Fold for Celtic's first friendly of 2020/21.

Harry Freedman scored early on with Jon Ustabasi netting a brace in the first-half.

A Cheadle own goal shortly after the restart along with Ustabasi completing his hat-trick and a goal from a trialist sealed a convincing 6-0 win for Celtic.

Celtic went ahead inside the first 60 seconds. Krisel Prifti was released down the right-hand side, he sent a low cross in to the feet of Freedman who slotted the ball past Lenny Fieldhouse.

Cheadle did test Tom Stewart shortly after with Celtic's keeper making a good save down to his right to keep out Patrick Davin.

Tom Wilson rose highest from a Prifti corner on 12 minutes but he could only head narrowly wide.

Celtic had a golden chance to score a second on 18 minutes. Freedman, who scored the first, sent Ustabasi racing down the left-hand side. He crossed for Kyle Hawley who could only stab the ball wide.

It wasn't too matter though as Celtic did score a second just two minutes later.

Prifti was again involved, he played a ball over the top of the Cheadle defence which set Ustabasi one on one with Fieldhouse, Celtic's 2019/20 Player of the Season cut infield and fired in to the net.

Celtic kept piling on the pressure and Anthony Williams was found in a packed penalty area, he shot on the turn and forced a good save from Fieldhouse.

Cheadle looked to get back in to the game and won a corner on 25 minutes. Celtic managed to clear and counter quickly, a through ball found Ustabsi who used his skill to flick the ball in between two defenders. He ran forward and slotted past Fiedlhouse for his second and Celtic's third.

Hawley and Utsabasi went close before the break but couldn't quite beat Fieldhouse.

Celtic winger Prifti did manage to beat Fieldhouse, from 30 yards he fired a free-kick towards goal which struck the cross bar and bounced off the line.

Tyler Williams and Brad Knox were brought on at the break but it wasn't long before Celtic scored a fourth.

On 51 minutes, Prifti delivered a pacey corner on the far side, which was diverted in to the Cheadle net by a Cheadle defender.

Ustabasi had further joy down the left wing and dragged a shot wide on 63 minutes.

Prifti, Hawley and Freedman were all replaced by Trialists in the second-half as Celtic looked comfortable.

With 14 minutes to go, Ustabasi did eventually score his hat-trick. Knox played a ball over the top of the defence to Ustabasi, he steadied himself before coolly lobbing the keeper.

Ustabasi wasn't finished there. Celtic worked the ball nicely with Anthony Williams and Knox involved, Ustabasi was set free in the area but saw his shot blocked at close range.

Celtic scored a sixth shortly after. A lapse in concentration from the Cheadle defence saw a Trialist through on goal, he was able to take the ball past Fieldhouse and slot in to the empty net.

Celtic looked comfortable in the final few minutes and finished the game having scored six.

A good first performance from Celtic in their first fixture back since March.
