Matty is an experienced striker who made six appearances for Chester in the National League North last season before joining Lancaster City on dual-registration terms, however, due to the pandemic, Matty didn’t feature for The Dolly Blues. He began his career coming through the youth ranks at Everton before joining Golborne Sports on his release. In 2012, he joined Skelmersdale United, scoring 25 goals in 58 games earning him a move to high-flying Fleetwood Town. Two loan spells at Chester followed in 2014 and 2015 before a move to AFC Flyde, where he scored 9 goals in 73 appearances over two seasons. In 2017 he made the hop over to Chorley, scoring once in 29 appearances, eventually returning to Chester in 2018.
