
Steve Halford started his career with his home town club of Bury, making 5 first team appearances in the league. In 2001 he joined Chester City making ten appearances before moving to Accrington Stanley where he was almost ever present between 2002 and 2004, making nearly sixty appearances. A Brief spell at Radcliff Borough before he joined Droylsden in 2005. He was at the Butcher's arms for five years making over a hundred appearances and scoring five times. In 2010, Steve left to join Hyde United where he was ever present for a season, including taking on the caretaker manager role, joining Mossley in 2011 and making a further twenty-one appearances going on to become the player manager of the club guiding the Lilywhites to two consecutive Manchester Premier Cup final wins. In 2013 he joined up as co-manager of Ashton United with Paul Phillips. Together they got to two consecutive play-offs, only losing at the final hurdle. After the departure of Liam Watson, Steve and Paul become co-managers of Stalybridge Celtic.
