Mansfield born James started his career with his home town club, Mansfield Town, given first team contract in 2002 when he made the bench for the play off final against Huddersfield Town. in 2004, he joined Burton Albion, was the shot stopper for Moor Green through 2005, Worcester in 2006 and Kidsgrove in 2007. Celtic first encountered James in 2008 playing for Vauxhall Motors, when he single handed kept the scoreline 1-1 in Ellesmere Port. He would have kept a clean sheet at Bower Fold in the return fixture, with another excellent display, but for an own goal. A short spell at Northwich Vics,before he returned to Vauxhall in 2009, when he helped Vauxhall to a 3-2 win with a crucial save from Keith Briggs. 2010 saw a move to Altrincham at the start, before joining Guisely at the end. 2011 saw a brief stint at New Mills, before rejoining Altrincham to be cover for Stuart Coburn. James moved to Wales in 2012 to join Airbus, for whom he made about a hundred appearances, including during one of their European adventures. He had a loan spell in Rhyl, before joining Droylsden. James joins us from Droylsden. He has played for the Welsh Under 16s, 17s and 21s.
