Celtic's search for a goal continues
By Deborah Taylor

Stuttering Celtic drew a third blank in a row as they succumbed to three goals from Morpeth Town, despite Celtic looking the more likely to score in the opening period.

In the first quarter of an hour, shots from Raul Correia, Osebi Abadaki and Tinashe Chakwana peppered the visitor's goal, with only Chakwana testing the keeper after a drive into the box. With their first attack, a long ball down the middle, Connor Thomson wrongfooted Dahrius Waldron to go clear on goal, making no mistake. Seven minutes later, a slip by Louis Danquah allowed Thomson to trot down the touchline and pick out Sam Fishburn for a cheeky flick through Ciaran Summers's legs doubling the lead.

After Fishburn's second attempt saw Greg Hall tip the effort for a corner, Callum Morris made full use of Celtic’s inability to clear, nodding in the third on thirty-six minutes. It could have been four by halftime, with Hall getting down to smother Fishburn’s effort.

The second half saw Morpeth content to invite Celtic onto them. Domaine Rouse should have pulled one back from a corner, with his free header wide of the mark, whilst Correia came closer still after good work from Abadaki to get the low cross into the box gave a side foot opening for the Celtic front man, but his tap-in went wide. Tom Miller also missed a free header off a corner as Celtic looked threatening without actually threatening for the remainder of the game, Ben Richardson's header from a free kick smothered at the far post by a barely troubled Dan Lawson.
