Match Preview :- Sutton Coldfield Town - Saturday December 2nd, 2017 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic return to league action when we travel down to Birmingham to face Sutton Coldfield Town (kick off 3pm). Sutton Coldfield are currently bottom of the league in twenty-fourth on sixteen points, two places and four points behind Celtic, having also played three games more. There will be a match centre, Twitter feed and radio commentary for this show – barring any technical difficulties!

Sutton have won four games this season, two at home and two away. Their most recent game was a win, beating Farsley 1-0 in Farsley. In their last five home games, they've lost four and drawn one, picking up a point against Whitby back in mid-October. Their last home win was a 2-1 victory over Buxton; you have to go back to the first game of the season for their only other home win. In eleven matches, they have had three draws, two wins and six losses, including a 6-0 defeat to Barwell.

Half of their twenty-one goals have been scored by Gurjit Singh, who has ten goals, seven of them at home, he has scored more at home than the rest of the team combined. On average they score 0.9 goals per game (1.1 at home), whilst conceding 2.7 goals per game (2.6 at home). They have conceded sixty-two goals this season, twenty-eight of them at home. They are especially vulnerable in the last five minutes, conceding ten during this period. They have conceded more goals this season than any other team, by some distance.

We've been to Sutton Coldfield once before, two years ago almost to the day, when they knocked us out of the FA Trophy with a 1-0 in a game largely devoid of any football from either team.

In their last match, the 1-0 away defeat over Farsley, Sutton Coldfield lined up as: 1. Nick Draper 2. Tyler Lyttle 3. Zak Martin 4. Lee Smith 5. Michael Towensend 6. Matt Baker 7. Matt Walters 8. Reece Webb 9. Danny O'Callagahan 10. Andy Birch 11. Gurjit Singh Celtic's last match was the 2-1 away defeat in the FA Trophy to Blyth Spartans. In that match, Celtic lined up as: 1. Joe Slinn 2. Oliver Crowley 3. Lee Neville 4. Danny Morton 5. Luke Ashworth 6. Alex Honeyball 7. Theo Bailey-Jones 8. Jake Charles 9. Liam Dickinson 10. Matty Wolfenden 11. Connor Hughes This game is between the team with the worst home record in the league, against the team with the worst away record in the league; something will have to change. A win for Celtic could see us rise two places to twentieth, whilst a loss could see us drop a place to twenty-third. Celtic have yet to win on the road this season, but despite the artificial pitch, this game could see Celtic finally break a run stretching back to the end of October 2016, which was the last time we won away on a Saturday: away at Bradford Park Avenue.
