Match Preview :- Colwyn Bay - Saturday December 28th, 2013 (15:00:00)

Today Celtic face Colwyn Bay in what has become a bit of a must win game for the Celts, who must bounce back from the Boxing Day Massacre at Altrincham. Colwyn Bay are currently three places and five points ahead of Celtic in the table. There will be a live match centre for this game.

Colwyn Bay won their Boxing Day match, beating Vauxhall Motors at home 1-0. This is their fourth win on the bounce beating North Ferriby United 3-2, Histon 1-0 and Workington 3-0. The last game that they lost was at home to Gainsborough Trinity at the end of November, when they lost at home 2-0. This recent turn around in form from early season has lifted them to tenth in the table, with thirty points. In their opening ten matches, they only managed two wins beating Stockport and Oxford 1-0 and 2-1 respectively. They did manage four draws in the same period however.

We have already played Colwyn Bay, when we beat them 2-1 at Llanellian Road, back in the second game of the season, with Paul Ennis getting the goal for Colwyn Bay, and Oscar Durnin scoring a cracker of a winner after Celtic had gone one ahead through a sublime finish from Sean McConville. It's been a few games since Colwyn Bay beat Celtic, and you have to go to the 11/12 season when they beat us home and away. That season is the only time Colwyn Bay have beaten Celtic, with eight visits to Bower Fold seeing six wins for the Celts and one draw, whilst away, we have played there seven times and won four of them.

There is no team news from Colwyn Bay, and the team against Vauxhall isn't known. However in their previous match against North Ferriby (which they won 3-2) they lined up as:
1. Chris Sanna
2. Danny Taylor
3. Mike Lea
4. Anthony Stephens
5. Tom Smyth
6. Jamie Crowther
7. Gareth Evans
8. Shaun Williams
9. Rob Hopley
10. Marc Williams
11. Jamie Ellison

Celtic should have a full squad to choose from, with no suspensions. In our last match, the 5-0 defeat away at Altrincham, Celtic lined up as:
1. Craig Ellison
2. Kelvin Bleau
3. Andy McWilliams
4. Callum Warburton
5. James Tunnicliffe
6. Kristian Platt
7. Adam Pepper
8. Prince Haywood
9. Phil Marsh
10. Sean McConville
11. Paul Ennis

Celtic need to get back to winning ways to prevent the chasing pack from pushing Celtic closer to the relegation zone. With five teams capable of overtaking Celtic, should we lose, we could be left in eighteenth, in a worst case scenario. Only two teams are within range of being overtaken by Celtic should we win, Bradford and Vauxhall, which could lift us to eleventh.

There is a full match schedule today, with the following games:
