First Pre-season win
By DamoSCFC

Celtic turned up at the weaver stadium looking for revenge after the last meeting of the 2 sides ended up with Nantwich winning the Cheshire Senior Cup.

From the start the Celts were looking to play the ball on the floor and with nice neat passing moves almost took the lead early on when Obi Anouro shot just wide. Bridge started with academy keeper Anthony Pilkington and was forced to make a great save from a Harry Clayton shot on 18 mins. Adam Pepper and Lewis Hatch were bossing the midfield and Sean McConville started to put pressure on a Nantwich defense who started giving away free kicks in dangerous areas. Kristian Platt shot narrowly over. A quick free kick saw Andy McWilliams in acres of space who cut back from the by-line and Adam Pepper slotted home (Not Hatch as the Nantwich announcer stated)

Ht 1-0 Celtic

Second Half started slowly - Joel Bembo Leta replaced Obi up front and started putting pressure on ex-celt Sam Egerton. After a scramble in the Nantwich box - the ball cut loose to Sean McConville who calmly chipped a shot into the far corner to make it 2-0 to Celtic.

Nantwich then made a flurry of substitutions which tuned the tide. Big Earl Davis was taken off and it was one of the Subs that made the Nantwich breakthough, Max Harrop drove at the Bridge defence and fired a left footed shot that the young Celtic keeper had no chance with - 2-1.

Harrop popped up again and headed just wide from a corner. Celtic had used all thier subs, but Hatch was forced to come off with a knock, which left just 10 Stalybridge played on the pitch for the last 15 mins or so. The lads held out for a victory and the first pre season victory was recorded.
