Defender Mohamud Ali joins from Warrington Town. The 28-year-old centre half, who has played for Curzon Ashton and Southport moves to Bower Fold ahead of tomorrow’s fixture with Ashton United. Mo was born in the Netherlands and began his career at Alphense Boys and ADO Den Haag before moving over to the UK in 2013. In 2016, he joined Glossop North End, under Celtic Manager Chris Willcock, where he played 34 times. A year at Mossley and one at Droylsden followed before a successful two-year spell with Curzon Ashton in the National League North saw Mo play 64 games for The Nash. He was named Supporters’ Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season. This saw him a move to Southport, where he was signed by former Celtic manager Liam Watson in the summer of 2020. In 2021, he joined Warrington Town where he impressed in pre-season before suffering a bad injury at the start of the season. Capped by Somalia eight times, Mo brings a wealth of experience to Celtic and joins us for the final six games.
