Our abandoned home fixture at Bower Fold saw Community Development work in partnership with Tameside Citizens Advice Bureau to hold a Foodbank Collection for their Foodbank referral programme for those in need.

A fantastic amount of food was donated on the day, which just about got in the car down to the CAB Offices in Ashton-under-Lyne!

We've received a nice letter from Nigel Morgan & Susan Riley, District Managers at Tameside CAB who wrote 'On behalf of everyone at Tameside CAB, we would like to thank everyone at the recent Stalybridge Celtic v AFC Fylde game for being kind enough to donate food items to the Tameside CAB Helping Hands shop in Ashton-under-Lyne, to enable our essential Foodbank operation.

The kindness of these fabulous contributions continues to humble us and helps us to continue our help for those local people most in need. As you are aware, the result of this generosity ensures that our staff and volunteers are able to concentrate on distributing vital food where it is really needed the most.

We send our best wishes and thank you once again for arranging the collection, resulting in the amazing donations not only from everyone connected with Stalybridge Celtic FC, but also the AFC Fylde supporters.

Mike Smith, Community Development Officer said 'A very big thank you to all who donated on the day, much appreciated. We will be holding another Foodbank Collection at Bower Fold on 26th March when Gainsborough Trinity FC are the visitors, we hope you can continue to support the collections'.

Councillor Jan Jackson and Angela Raynor MP were on hand against AFC Fylde to officially launch the Foodbank collections at Stalybridge Celtic FC.
