We’re thrilled to confirm the signing of experienced winger Milan Lalkovic!

The 31-year-old Slovakian attacking midfielder that can play both out wide or centrally, signs for Celtic ahead of tonight’s NPL West fixture vs Widnes.

Milan has gained vast experience throughout his career. From starting off in the youth academy at Chelsea, he has played for clubs including Walsall, Barnsley and Portsmouth whilst featuring abroad for teams such as ADO Den Haag, Vitoria Guimaraes and Banik Ostrava and Sigma Olomouc in the Czech Republic.

Milan took part in this summer’s PFA pre-season training camp and is raring to go.

After joining up with Celtic, Milan said: “I’m looking forward to being back playing football again and enjoying it! I want to work hard and help the gaffer and team to achieve our goals this season.

“The Club is local to where I live and I’m also currently working on my own coaching day-to-day, so being able to do this whilst also playing for the Club is something I’m really excited to get started with.”

James Kinsey added: “Milan is a player who we’ve been after since the Summer. He is a proven player having played at some really high levels and will bring us real quality in the final third.

“He’s a player that can produce something out of nothing and will add goals in the final third. He has completed his pre-season with the PFA and is ready to go.”

Signing for Chelsea in 2007, Milan had early loan spells with Doncaster Rovers, ADO Den Haag and Vitoria Guimaraes before enjoying a successful loan move to Walsall making 38 League One appearances. He re-joined Walsall permanently in 2015 and made a further 40 appearances as Walsall finished third in League One, missing out on auto promotion to the Championship by a point.

A permanent move to Portsmouth followed before Milan spent time with Ross County, Sigma Olomouc, Banik Ostrava and Pribram in the Czech Republic. He’s also gained experience with Boston United and Makedonikos in Greece.

Welcome to Celtic, Milan!
