Author: Taran Dhamrait - Fri 22 May 26Stalybridge Celtic can announce the permanent signing of striker Lewis Rawsthorn from Bury FC for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old returns to Bower Fold after a successful initial loan spell during the 2024-25 season where he scored 13 goals and recorded eight assists in 28 games when joining on loan from Radcliffe.
Since then, Lewis spent time in the NPL Premier Division scoring seven goals for Hyde United before joining Bury on New Year’s Eve 2025 and scoring five goals and assisting twice in 13 games.
The fans favourite now re-joins Celtic ahead of the 2026-27 season on a permanent basis and will link back up with a lot of familiar faces in July.
Lewis said: “I’m delighted to be back! It has been talked about a couple of times since I last played here in 2025 but it couldn’t quite happen. I’m excited to get playing back at Bower Fold and can’t wait to see what this season holds for us.’
Welcome back Rawsy!
