On Saturday Celtic host their last match of 2025 when Vauxhall Motors are the visitors. Vauxhall are currently second in the league on forty points, level on points but two places ahead of Celtic on goal difference. Kick off 3pm.
Motors are on a winning streak, after an October that saw them go without a win for six matches, drawing four and losing two, they have won their last six matches, a current league record streak. Their last defeat was away from home at Shifnal Town, which they lost 5-2. Their current streak has propelled them up the league from a low point of ninth to their current position, five points behind the league leaders. All three of their last away wins have been against currently struggling teams: Trafford, Stafford and Nantwich.
They’ve won their last six matches by scoring twenty-two goals over that period, propelling them also to the top of the attack leaderboard, with fifty-two goals, with Connor Harwood netting eight in the last six. Their top scorer is Nick Rushton with nine goals, three of which he scored in the last six. Overall, they score at a 2.4 goals per game, and concede at a rate of two goals per away game and 1.5 overall. Vauxhall have only failed to score once on the road in their second away game of the season at Chasetown, so have scored in their last nine away matches. That match was also their last away clean sheet, with only four teams having conceded more on the road than Vauxhall. Celtic have the best home attack in the league, so it could be an interesting match.
In their last twenty visits to Bower Fold, Celtic have won ten, Vauxhall seven and there have been three draws. We’ve already played them this season, on the opening day, which finished 1-1, with Rube Jerome’s penalty not enough thanks to a late equaliser. Last season, it was another 1-1 draw at Bower Fold, Liam Tongue equalising at the start of the second half. Vauxhall won their previous visit to that, in 2023, beating Celtic 2-1. Celtic’s last league win at Bower Fold over Vauxhall was 2013 with both teams in the Conference North, and we beat them three times in that season, also knocking them from the Trophy.

2. Yassine Toure
3. Joshua Solomon-Davies
4. Wade Rutherford
5. Michael Grogan
6. Finlay Heath
7. Nathan Sandison

5. Jordan Butterworth
6. Jack Tinning

A win for Celtic would see us leapfrog Vauxhall, going second if Stafford beat Avro. A loss could see us drop to seventh, if Runcorn beat Atherton at home on Friday, Shifnal beat Clitheroe away and Bury beat Newcastle away.
