Despite Warrington’s intense pressure during the second half, Celtic held firm and went through to the final.

In an open first half, Celtic came closest to opening the scoring, with Joe Duckworth getting into the box, but fired into the side netting, while at the other end, Joe Rodwell-Grant and Joe Ackroyd and Murphy Bennet were all restricted to shots from distance which Charlie Monks mopped up. Celtic started to get on top, when Joe Duckworth outpaced his marker and fired in a low shot, but Matty Mackinson used his hands to deny the goal. Jack Irlam stepped up and struck a sweet penalty into the corner. Duckworth got a second for Celtic, but the whistle had already gone for a nasty foul on Brandon Newell.

Second half saw Warrington turning the screw, increasing the pressure throughout the whole half. But Celtic held firm, Mo Doro and Sam Gill got the closest, but Monks got down well to both, whilst in Celtic’s few escapes from their own half encampment saw Jack Tinning fire narrowly wide and Lewis Rawsthorn too direct. Even though five minutes were added, Celtic kept their cool and made no mistakes carrying them into the final against Runcorn.
