Match Preview :- Lancaster City - Tuesday September 6th, 2022 (19:45:00)

Having drawn against Lancaster, Celtic must now travel to Lancaster for the FA Cup Replay on Tuesday night. Kick off 7:45pm.

Lancaster are currently seventeenth on seven points, having won one, lost one and drawn four. They have the best defence in the league currently, having conceded just once on their travels and once at home. That one goal scored against them came at Bower Fold when we played them two weeks ago, inflicting their only loss so far this season. With three goalless draws, most recently against Atherton, their only win has come away at Gainsborough, when they scored two of their three goals this season.

Charlie Bailey, Dominic Lawson and Dale Whitham have each scored one goal, giving Lancaster an average of 0.7 goals per away game, 0.5 overall and have failed to score twice on the road and twice at home. They concede an average of 0.3 goals per game, and keeping two of their four clean sheets away from home.

Over the past thirty years, we’ve travelled to the Giant Axe twelve times. Our last visit there was at the start of the second curtailed season, when they won 2-0. Our last points thee came with a goalless draw in December 2019, whilst our last win was back in 2006 when we beat them 1-0 with Mark Hume’s late goal the only highlight. In total, we’ve had three wins in those twelve visits, with six wins for Lancaster and three draws. With extra time and penalties on Tuesday, there will be a winner.
