Match Preview :- Gloucester City - Saturday January 9th, 2016 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic travel down the M6 to face Gloucester City. Gloucester are currently three places and three points behind Celtic in fifteenth on twenty-six points, although they have played two games more. There will be a live match centre for this game.

Gloucester have recently improved their fortunes, with only one loss in the last four matches, before that though they'd had just four wins between the start of the season and the start of December. That said, all three of those wins were away, beating Telford, Worcester and FC United. Their one home game was a loss to Worcester. Gloucester's last home win was back in October when they beat Corby Town 1-0. In fact, out of their seven wins this season, only three have come at home, meaning they've taken six points off FC United and Telford. They have also only had one draw at home, so in ten home matches, they've lost six.

Nor are Gloucester free scoring, three times they have scored two in a game, but they have not scored more than that. They have only failed to score in four home games, and have scored just one per game in the other six, giving them an average of 0.6 goals per game at home and only 0.76 overall. Only Telford have scored fewer than Gloucester's eighteen goals. Eight of those goals came in the last twenty minutes. The concede an average of 1.2 goals per game, but have kept six clean sheets (three at home). They are especially vulnerable first half, especially the opening half hourwith fifteen of their twenty-eight conceded goals conceded in that period. Former Celt, Obi Anorou is joint top scorer for Gloucester on four, with Harry Williams. In both the games the Tigers were winning at half time, they have gone on to win them, though drawing and losing is more of a lottery for them.

Gloucester won their last match 2-1 away at Worcester, and in that match lined up as:
1. Jasbir Singh
2. Mike Green
3. Billy Jones
4. Rob Cundy
5. Sam Avery
6. Lewis Hall
7. Tom Webb
8. Chris Knowles
9. Harry Williams
10. Luke Hopper
11. Joe Hanks

Dale Wright was the casualty in Celtic's last match, joining Jack Higgins on the physio table. Ben McKenna and Danny Wisdom were both back in contention though. Celtic's last match was a 1-1 draw with local neighbours Curzon Ashton, and in that match, we lined up as:
1. Tony McMillan
2. Peter Wylie
3. Oliver Crowley
4. Matty Hughes
5. John Shaw
6. Aaron Chalmers
7. Bohan Dixon
8. Dale Wright
9. Chris Simm
10. Alex Mudimu
11. Danny Burns

Though Gloucester can draw level on points, there would have to be a goal fest to overturn the 8 goals goal-difference. However, both Alfreton and Bradford could overtake us, should we lose. Conversely we could overtake the four teams above us with a win, and we still have games in hand.
