Match Preview :- Worcester City - Saturday December 20th, 2014 (15:00:00)

On Saturday, Celtic have a league home game, our first in a month, when Worcester City are the visitors. Worcester are currently ninth in the table, on thirty points, twelve places and fourteen points ahead of Celtic, with two games in hand. There will be a match centre for this game.

Worcester started the season slowly, with no wins in their opening five games, though they had four draws. This poor start did leave them skirting the relegation spots, but they soon turned it around, and are now unbeaten in seven, with five wins and two draws. Three of those wins have come away from home, beating Hyde, Harrogate and Gainsborough. The last time they lost away was when Fylde beat them 4-0 back at the end of September. That was the end of their poor away form, which had seen them not win an away game in their first six away games, losing four, drawing two.

With six goals, Daniel Nti is their top scorer with all of his goals coming in the second half, indeed, Worcester are very much a second half team. With sixteen of their twenty-four goals coming in the second period, whilst they only have conceded five of their eighteen conceded goals in the same period. If they have been losing at half time, they have only once managed to turn this around, and get a draw away from home.

We've already met Worcester this season, when our opening game was at their place, finishing in a 2-2 draw, after Celtic had the better of the first half, getting a two goal lead. Worcester have quite a good record against Celtic. The last time we beat them at Bower Fold was October, 2011, when two goals from Connor Jennings sealed a Celtic 2-0 win. Worcester, however, have won their last two visits here, in November they won 2-1, Kristian Platt grabbing an equaliser from the spot, only for Daniel Nti to pop up and grab a late winner, whilst the season before, two late goals from Danny Glover and Mike Symons taking all three points.

Worcester face Scunthorpe in the FA Cup on Wednesday, having held them to a 1-1 draw in Scunthorpe; they are also still in the Trophy, and will face Halifax next Tuesday. They have a fully fit squad, and no suspensions. In their match, the 1-1 draw away at Scunthorpe, they lined up as:
1. Nathan Vaughan
2. Tyler Weir
3. George Williams
4. Wayne Thomas
5. Graham Hutchison
6. Jordan Murphy
7. Ellis Deeney
8. Daniel Nti
9. Mike Symons
10. Sean Geddes
11. Connor Gater

Celtic's last match was also away, losing 3-0 at AFC Fylde. Adian Chippendale has missed out from the last few games through injury, though Kelvin Bleau made a return, and Liam Dickinson will be available again for Saturday's match.
1. King, Lewis
2. Bleau, Kelvin
3. Regan, Matt
4. Jordan, Todd
5. Hughes, Matty
6. Galinski, Stefan
7. McKenna, Ben
8. Kerr, Scott
9. Cadman, James
10. Ennis, Paul
11. Holsgrove, Kevin

Celtic are desperate for a win. The gap between the bottom three and safety is growing week on week, and even with a win, Celtic would be unable to get out of the bottom three, though a win for Celtic, and a loss for Gloucester would see the two teams swap places, but Bradford increase the gap to safety.
