Match Preview :- AFC Fylde - Saturday December 6th, 2014 (15:00:00)

On Saturday Celtic travel to near Blackpool to take on AFC Fylde in the Conference North. Fylde are currently challenging for the title and sit in third in the table, on thirty-four points, eighteen points and seventeen places ahead of Celtic with two games in hand. There should be a match centre for this game.

Fylde's promotion push has stalled in the past few weeks, with only one win in the last five matches, though they have two games in hand on Guiseley who sit in second, and are only a point behind, a run of away games has seen them stumble, and their last home match was a goalless draw against Stockport County. Though they've not lost this season at home, they have twice been held to goalless draws. On the road, they've only been beaten three times, at Boston, Lowestoft and … Stalybridge. Celtic have inflicted their worst defeat of the season on them, beating them 3-0 at Bower Fold, something they'll be eager to rectify. They've twice won 4-0 at home, beating Worcester and Brackley by that margin.

Fylde have been scoring freely up until recently, and though they had a barren spell of three games at the start of the season, including two of their three losses, they scored in their next nine matches. In their last five, however, they've found the net only three times, and not at all in their two, both of which were goalless draws against Stockport County. Their home average score is two goals a game, and their away score is 2.2 goals per game, inflated by their 8-1 demolition of Oxford. Their danger man is Richard Allen, who has eight goals this season, closely followed by Danny Rowe and Michael Potts who have six and five respectively.

In Fylde's last game, the goalless away draw with Stockport County, they lined up as:
1. Ben Hinchliffe
2. Casper Hughes
3. Adam Sumner
4. Josh Langley
5. Tom Hannigan
6. Bradley Barnes
7. Michael Potts
8. Jamie Allen
9. Danny Lloyd
10. Josh Wilson
11. Richard Allen

Celtic have a better away record recently than a home one, with a win and two draws in our last five. However, we could be without Liam Dickinson for Saturday's game after he limped off injured in the Trophy match on Saturday. In that match, the 2-1 home defeat to Chorley in the Trophy, Celtic lined up as:
1. Lewis King
2. Oliver Crowley
3. Nathan Heath
4. Alex Mudimu
5. Matt Regan
6. Stefan Galinski
7. Ben McKenna
8. Scott Kerr
9. George Lomax
10. Paul Ennis
11. Liam Dickinson

Celtic are within reach of Lowestoft, Brackley and Bradford Park Avenue, who all sit above us, but getting a win at Fylde is something no team has done this season. With Gloucester only a point behind us though, we desperately need something out of the match, and a draw would be enough to lift us out of the drop zone, depending on how Bradford get on away at Harrogate.
