Stalybridge Celtic is thrilled to confirm the loan signing of Tunde Owolabi from Warrington Rylands.

The 30-year-old prolific striker signs for Jon Macken’s side on an initial month’s loan until November 1st.

Tunde links back up with Macken, having worked together at Radcliffe where the striker scored 26 goals and recorded 13 assists as Radcliffe achieved promotion to the NPL Premier Division.

After leaving Radcliffe, Tunde has gone on to feature for the likes of FC United of Manchester - scoring 35 goals in one season which earned him a move to Hamilton Academical for an undisclosed fee. Spells at Finn Harps, St Pat’s Athletic and Cork City followed before a return to England, where Tunde scored nine goals in 14 apps for Macclesfield in 2023-24. A return to Radcliffe via Southport saw Tunde sign for Warrington Rylands this summer.

Having completed his loan move to Celtic, Tunde said: “I'm delighted to have signed for Stalybridge Celtic and to be re-united with Jon Macken.

“He played a big role at the start of my football journey, and winning promotion with him is a memory that will stay with me forever. It's been a frustrating start to the season but I'm focused on playing games, and getting back to my best.

“Stalybridge Celtic is a big club with a brilliant fanbase, and I’m looking forward to getting out there, giving my all, and helping the team pick up points.”

Jon Macken added: “I’m over the moon to have Tunde joining us! He’s a fantastic player and one who I know very well. Once I knew he was available, I jumped at the chance and can’t wait to work with Tunde once again.

“He’ll provide us with another option in attack and complement our existing players. For the Club to have signed Tunde, it’s a massive coup.”

Tunde’s signing means he is available for Saturday’s NPL trip to Kidsgrove Athletic.
