Stalybridge Celtic is pleased to confirm Jordan Butterworth has extended his stay with the Club for the 2025-26 season!

Jordan made a joint-second highest 46 appearances for Celtic last season and recorded a joint-highest eight assists, showcasing his versatility in both midfield and defence.

Jordan followed in his father’s footsteps, Gary Butterworth (148 games) when he joined Celtic in March 2024 from Bury. Having extended his stay into his third season with the Club, Jordan said: “I’m very happy to be staying at Celtic for another season. I can’t wait to get back into pre-season with everyone and make next year a season to remember.”

Jon Macken added: “I’m really pleased that Jordan will be staying with us next season. His appearances last season showed his importance and his ability to play in numerous positions makes him a big part of our team. I felt like Jordan really came into his own once we came through the door and his delivery was a real plus for us.”

Before arriving at Celtic, Jordan had excelled at nearby neighbours Mossley which earned him a move to Bamber Bridge. He then joined Bury before making the move up a division to join Celtic.

Welcome back Jordan!
