Stalybridge Celtic is thrilled to confirm midfielder Brandon Newell has extended his stay with Celtic for the 2025-26 season.

The 20-year-old fan’s favourite returned to the Club under Jon Macken in November 2024 and was ever present in the Celtic team until injury ended his season early in March. Currently on the road to recovery, Brandon will now look to add to the 43 Celtic appearances already under his belt.

?He tells us: “I’m delighted to be back for another season at this Club! It was frustrating to miss the back end of the season due to injury when I was enjoying my football as much as I was. The way the Club and supporters supported me is something I won’t forget and playing next season for the bridge is the least I can do. It was tough to just miss out on the play-offs but I know we can achieve good things and go one better this season. Rehab is flying by and I can’t wait to be back. See you soon!”

Brandon made his Celtic debut in August 2023 before a short spell away at Witton Albion, where he first played under Celtic’s Manager. As soon as Jon Macken stepped through the doors at Celtic, one of his first signings was Brandon and the gaffer couldn’t be more delighted.

Jon Macken added: “Brandon’s another key retention for us so I’m absolutely delighted. We know each other well and he fully embraces what I look for in a player. He show’s a consistent desire, hunger and level of performance which is exactly what we need. He was really unfortunate to miss out on the last part of the season but with Brandon’s determined mindset and with the support of our medical team, we’ll look forward to seeing him again next season.”

Congratulations Brandon!
