Stalybridge Celtic is pleased to confirm Max Leonard and Jack Irlam are the latest to re-sign with the Club for the 2025/26 season.

The duo have made a combined 148 appearances for the Club having both joined officially in September 2023.

Max scored nine times last year in 42 games and showed his versatility playing in a variety of roles across the pitch but becoming more prominent in midfield under Jon Macken. He was awarded our 2024/25 Goal of the Season for his second strike away at Avro.

Jack had his best season in a Celtic shirt, scoring 14 goals in 48 games including memorable late goals away at Mossley and Stafford Rangers and the winner in our Cheshire Senior Cup Semi Final at Warrington Town.

After re-signing for Celtic, Max said: “I’m really excited to sign for another season. When I heard Jack was staying, I had no other option to be fair. Me and my family love that club and have felt welcome ever since I joined, we’re all really looking forward to the new season.

“Losing in the cup final and just missing out on the play offs was really disappointing but also gives us an added motivation to go one better next season, hopefully with the lads that are staying and a couple of new additions we can make that happen, it’s the least the fans deserve.

Let’s all as a club have a great season and get Bower Fold rocking. Up the bridge!”

Jack added: “I’m very happy to re-sign for Celtic next season. I spoke to the Gaffer and he confirmed to me that Max is re-signing as well so it was a no brainer.

“Last season stung not making play-offs and then the cup final to top it off but there’s un-finished business and hopefully next season we can go further and get promoted and even get some silverware that the fans and Club deserve. Up the bridge, see you soon.”

Manager Jon Macken said: “We’re all delighted to have Max and Jack staying with us next season. Their contributions have been invaluable, they are full of character and add a lot to our squad. They both really impressed me since I took charge and I’m looking forward to working alongside them again next year.

Welcome back Max & Jack!
