Stalybridge Celtic can announce goalkeeper Charlie Monks has extended his stay with the Club for the 2025/26 season.

The 22-year-old impressed in his debut season at Step 4, making 45 appearances after joining the Club last summer.

After re-signing with the Club, Charlie tells us: “I’m excited to extend my stay at Stalybridge Celtic which I feel is the best place for my development. I believe it’s a Club that is going in the right direction and that is something I want to be part of.

“I thoroughly enjoyed being here last season, and that’s testament to the squad, the background staff and the fans. I was gutted that the season ended the way it did but that being said it was a great season and a good building block for next year.

“The club belongs at a much higher level and I have no doubt that we will get it there, hopefully we can start that journey next season.”

Manager Jon Macken added: “Charlie is another key part of what we’re trying to build here and someone who we are thrilled to be keeping for next season. He has now got two full seasons of experience in the men’s game and is someone we really enjoy working with.”

Great to have you with us again Charlie!
