Stalybridge Celtic is excited to confirm the signing of attacker Benni Smales-Braithwaite!
The 22-year-old former Manchester City and Southampton academy graduate joins Celtic from Danish side Vendsyssel.
Benni came through the ranks at Manchester City and then Southampton, turning professional in 2019. He’s had spells at the likes of Barrow, Curzon Ashton and Guiseley where he scored four goals in six games in 2023. A move to Vendsyssel followed with loans to Faroese club 07 Vestur and Skive.
After signing for Celtic, Benni said: “I’m happy to be here at Stalybridge. I’ve been training for a while now and all the lads have made me feel very welcome. I’m looking forward to finally start playing, showing the fans what I can do and help the team with our goals for the rest of the season.”
Jon Macken added: “I am very pleased we can finally announce the signing of Benni, who has been training with us for the past month while we awaited his international clearance.
“Benni is a highly talented striker who brings both quality and experience to our attacking lineup. His powerful running and clinical finishing ability have the potential to change the course of a game. I am excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing the impact he will have on our team and our supporters.
“Let's welcome Benni and get ready for an exciting back part of the season!”
