We’re excited to confirm the arrival of midfielder Brandon Newell who returns to the Club under Jon Macken.

The 20-year-old made 19 appearances for the Club last season before linking up with Celtic’s manager at Witton Albion, impressing in his 25 games at Wincham Park.

After returning to Celtic, Brandon said: “I’m delighted to be back at this huge Club! When I heard the interest was there from Jon it was a no brainier! Jon is a great manager and a massive reason as to why I’ve come.

“I believe he brought the best out of me and I know he will do it again. Not only that, but I believe Stalybridge is the biggest club in the league with a great setup, fans and community. I can’t wait to get started and to push on in the league, let’s get going!”

Jon Macken added: “Brandon is well known to the Club and also myself, having worked together at Witton last season. His attitude, desire and level of performance really impressed me and he has a real good understanding of the way I want to play, which will only help the squad perform to the levels that we’re expecting.

“We’re thrilled to welcome him back, he’s a great lad and we’re looking forward to seeing him on the pitch, helping us to gain the success that we’re all striving for.”
