We’re pleased to confirm the signing of defender Jordan Boon!
The 23-year-old centre back joins Celtic after most recently captaining New Zealand based Ngaruawahia United.
After returning to England and signing for Celtic, Jordan told us: “I’m delighted to sign for this massive Club! I’ve been to a few of the games this season and the fan base is something else, which I can’t wait to play in front of and push on with this group of players.
“Having played with and against most of the team, I’m excited to get on this journey and push towards where this Club deserves to be!
“Having worked with James Kinsey and Dan Whiteside previously and seeing the ambition direction they have for this football Club, it was a no brainer and hopefully I can add to this exciting project.”
James Kinsey added: “Jordan is somebody I’ve worked with previously. We’ve been looking for another centre back since Danny Lafferty moved on. We’ve been playing with a back three, and only have three centre backs at present so it was important to find someone to add to the group.
“Jord brings a left-sided balance to add to the top defenders that we already have.”
Having began his career at Bolton Wanderers, he made his professional debut in August 2019 in an EFL Cup game vs Rochdale, making his league debut just four days later against Tranmere Rovers. Jordan has had two spells with Atherton Collieries annd played for Wythenshawe Town. He has also featured for IFK Ostersund in Sweden, Banyule City in Australia.
Welcome to Celtic, Jordan!
