We’re excited to announce the signing of defender Kyle Brownhill from Lancaster City.

Full-back Kyle joins Celtic after an impressive two seasons at Lancaster City in the NPL Premier Division, where he picked up their Chairman’s Player of the Year and also played more minutes than any other Lancaster player last season, playing 45 times as they finished 9th.

An important part of the side at Lancaster, Kyle has played 91 times over the last two seasons and arrives to begin a new project at Bower Fold with vast experience.

After making the move to Celtic, Kyle said: “I am happy to be signing for Stalybridge Celtic. It’s a Club I’ve had many battles with over my time in non-league and it’s a big non-league Club. 

"I know it’s been a tough few years as a Club on and off the pitch but now with the plans going forward, it’s something for everyone to look forward to. I can’t wait to meet up with the lads and get going with putting the club back to the position it belongs."

Kyle lists Stockport County, Altrincham and Ramsbottom United as some of his former clubs in addition to spending a number of years at Hyde United, where he made 169 appearances.

After departing for Lancaster in 2022, Kyle became a fans favourite with The Dolly Blues and after another impressive season, picked up their Chairman’s Player of the Season award having played a club-high 3,726 minutes!
