Match Report -
Proper Pre Season
By Debbie Taylor

Out of all the pre-season fixtures, the game against Chester had the most pre-season feel about it. Scrappy, and bitty in parts with signs of things to come shining through for both teams.

Aidan Chippendale continued his good start to the season with a cracker of a shot after a good move. An even better move followed, but from Chester, spreading the ball quickly and well undoing the Celtic defence, and Jordan Chappell finished well, with a decent shot that flew past Tony McMillan.

Moments later and Chappell doubled his tally with a little help from a wicked deflection, when he ran through and unleashed a narrow angle effort that McMillan had covered until the switch of direction from Matty Hughes's rear end.

Celtic pulled one back just before the interval after their own good move sliced Chester open, and put Adam Farrell in against Jon Worsnop. Farrell's finish was confident and decisive.

The second half saw Chester start very strongly, Sam Hughes putting his head on a free kick under pressure from Bohan, but hadenough to direct it into the back of the net. Former Celtic striker, Craig Hobson, completed Chester's rout when he bundled over a lofted cross into the box whilst falling over.

A last minute sliding block from Aaron Chalmers kept the score line reasonable, after a great save from McMillan fell to the feet of Ross Hannah.

There were lots of half chances and good moves, but ultimately, Chester's finishing was better.
