On Celtic make the short hop to Wythenshawe to face Wythenshawe Town. Wythenshawe Town are currently in the drop zone, in nineteenth on forty-three points, nineteen points and thirteen places below Celtic. Kick off 3pm.

Only two points separate Wythenshawe Town from Kidsgrove Athletic and safety, but 2025 has seen Wythenshawe Town win three games. Their last win was a 3-0 win away at bottom club Liverpool, in mid-February, whilst their last home win was mid-January when they beat Chasetown 2-1. Their other win in 2025 was away at Avro at the start of January which they won 1-0. They’ve played eight home games this year, with three draws and a win, and four losses. Their best period this season was around the Christmas fixtures, when they five games without losing, beating Stafford and Wythenshawe as well as Avro, drawing Hanley (home) and Nantwich (away). Wythenshawe Town have picked up more points on the road than at home, picking up eighteen points from fifty-seven, and twenty-four points on the road, also from fifty-seven. They have lost their last two games and lost three of their last four home games.

Wythenshawe Town score quite freely, with the highest goal tally in the bottom nine, and eleventh highest scorers overall. However, they concede as many as they score, giving them a goal-difference of zero, the only team in the league with that particular accolade. With fourteen goals, George Boyd is their league golden boot owner, currently, double his nearest rival, Chinedu Uche. On average, they have scored their fifty-three goals (twenty-seven at home) at a rate of 1.4 goals per game, failing to score in five home matches and nine overall. Wythenshawe Town have conceded fifty-three goals in total (thirty-one at home) at a rate of 1.4 goals per game (1.6 at home), keeping three of their nine clean sheets at home. Five points still separate Celtic and Chasetown (at home to Newcastle) in the play-off spot, seven away from Hednesford (away at Kidsgrove). A win could reduce that to two and four, with three games to go. With each game, the task gets more difficult, but it’s not yet impossible. Avro and Runcorn are the two teams below us, and play each other at Runcorn, with only Avro able to overtake us should we lose. Our last three matches are at home to Vauxhall and Liverpool and away at Mossley. Vauxhall can still finish top, and will be a difficult game, whilst Mossley – it’s a derby. Getting nine points from those games would be a massive achievement in itself and certainly secure sixth. Chasetown have Witton, Avro and Hanley, and would expect to get close to maximum from those games. Hednesford’s run in is the hardest, with Mossley, Stafford and Runcorn, but will expect to pick up the five points needed in their last four to mean we cannot catch them.
