Match Preview :- Warrington Town - Tuesday October 25th, 2022 (19:45:00)

On Tuesday, Celtic face Warrington Town in the Cheshire Senior cup. Warrington are currently third in the league on twenty-five points, ten points and fourteen places above Celtic, with a game in hand. Kick-off 7:45. Tickets are available on the gate..

After winning their opening two games, one win in their next seven (and two in ten) saw them drop out of their customary top five spots. However, they have turned it around in their last three games, winning all three, conceding just once and scoring eight in those three. Away from home, they’ve won their last two, most recently beating Lancaster 1-0 and Liversedge. However their previous away win was two months prior when they beat us at Bower Fold.

Warrington have scored in every away match this season (failing to score twice at home), whilst keeping three clean sheets (with two more at home). They score their eleven away goals (from twenty-three in total) at a rate of 1.6 goals per game (from 1.5 overall). They have conceded seven on the road (from sixteen) at a rate of a goal per game (1.1 overall). Luke Duffy and Isaac Bailey-Ricketts are tying in league goals this season, with four apiece, with Connor Woods and Stefan Mols both on three. Away from home, they have the fifth best attack and the fifth best defence.

In cup competitions, Celtic have a good record against Warrington, knocking them out of the FA Cup three times, most recently in 2010 when we won 3-1 in Warrington. However, since our return to the Northern Premier League, we’ve won three, drawn once and lost five. Warrington have won their last three visits to Bower Fold, including earlier in the season, when they won 1-0. Our last win at Bower Fold over them was in 2018, when we won 2-0, thanks to two late goals in the first half from Liam Dickinson and Greg Wilkinson.

1. Anthony Thompson
2. Joshua Seary
3. Mitch Duggan
4. Tom Hannigan
5. Evan Gumbs
6. Jay Harris
7. Srefan Mols
8. Sean Williams
