Match Preview :- Radcliffe - Tuesday October 4th, 2022 (19:45:00)

Celtic travel across Manchester on Tuesday to face Radcliffe. Kick off 7:45pm. Radcliffe are currently seventh on eighteen points, seven points and ten places above Celtic.

Radcliffe’s only loss at home this season was to Marske in their second home match of the season, which they lost 4-2. Other than that, they’ve beaten Matlock (1-0), Liversedge (2-0) and Morpeth (3-1). Their most recent home match saw them draw 1-1 with Whitby last Tuesday, whilst their last match was a 1-0 away defeat to Warrington Town. Their only other loss this season was in their previous away match, losing 1-0 to Stafford, giving them 5 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses.

Having only failed to score twice, they’ve found the net thirteen times this season (nine at home), scoring at a rate of 1.8 goals per home game and 1.2 overall. Their top scorer so far is Luca Navarro with four. Radcliffe have kept two of their four clean sheets at home, conceding a total of ten goals, with six of them coming at home.

Since the turn of the millennium, Celtic have played Radcliffe nine times competitively, and never beaten Radcliffe in the league, despite six attempts. We have beaten them twice in cup competitions, the league cup back in 2001 and the Manchester Cup in 2016. Radcliffe knocked us out of the FA Cup in 2017. Our only competitive win there was in the League Cup in 2001. Our last visit saw us lose 2-1 in 2021 with Hayden Campbell scoring for us, whilst the previous two visits were 1-0 wins for Radcliffe.
