Yorkshire born Lee joined Stalybridge Celtic from the other Celtic, Farsley. He played pre-season with Stalybridge, and impressed a number of people, but wasn't part of then manager Dave Miller's plans, and returned to Ashton United where he'd played since 2002 when he'd joined from Farsley Celtic for a four figure fee. Farsley signed Lee from Bradford Park Avenue in 1999, and before that he started out with Eccleshill United, and had stints with Hatfield Main and Liversedge. After rarely getting into the team, he joined Guiseley.
