Despite the heat, both teams put in the effort to produce an end-to-end match.
Goals from Raul Correia and Ethan Padden saw Celtic race ahead before Chester came back with goals from Reece Daly, Matty Williams and Kurt Willoughby.
Celtic took the lead after some great build up play, the goal coming before the 15th minute mark when Aarron Grewall reached a long cross field ball it looked unlikely he'd reach. He whipped the ball back to Correia who arrived at speed to knock in. They doubled their lead as Padden cut through the Chester defence, twisting and turning, finishing with a squeezed shot between keeper and post on 39 minutes.
Six minutes later Chester halved the lead, a defensive mix up from a corner allowed Daly to come in unmarked and he knocked in a goal just before half time.
The second half saw Chester up the pressure, with Williams coming on and causing no end of problems for Celtic Under 18's graduate keeper, Connor Leach. Within the first minute he'd seen his shot saved before Iwan Murray put a ball through a crowd and Williams turned in the equaliser.
Williams saw Leach pull off a super double save at the near post, and a flying save from a Williams rocket, before with two minutes left on the clock.
William's nod down off a corner gave Willoughby the chance he needed to give the visitors the telling goal.
