Match Preview :- South Shields - Tuesday September 4th, 2018 (15:00:00)

On Tuesday night Celtic host South Shields (kick off 7:45pm). South Shields have yet to win away this season, with both their games resulting in losses for the league's new comers, however, they have won all three of their home games, most recently beating Nantwich 4-0. There will be a match centre and Twitter feed for this game.

Last season, South Shields topped their league, beating Scarborough by seven points, scoring 112 goals whilst conceding only thirty-seven. They have continued their free scoring approach this season, although at home this time, with nine goals scored at home this season, whilst conceding only one. They kicked off their campaign beating Witton 2-1 at home, followed up with a 3-0 win over Stafford and a 4-0 over Nantwich. Away from home, it's been a different story, scoring only once while conceding seven in their two games against Farsley, who won 4-1, and most recently against North Ferriby, who won 3-0. Carl Finnigan and Robert Briggs have three and two goals respectively, with the remainder of their goals ten goals this season coming from five other players.

This means that though they scored an average of 1.75 goals per game this season, away from home, they've scored 0.5 per game. At the other end, they've conceded an average of 1.9 goals per game this season, with 3.5 goals per game coming on the road. They have scored only once so far this season in the first half, their 3-0 win over Stafford, and have conceded only once in the first half in their 3-0 away defeat to North Ferriby. South Shields seem to save all the action in their games for the last ten minutes, when they have scored half of their goals, and conceded half of their goals.

In South Shield's last match, the 3-0 home win over Nantwich, they lined up as:
1. Liam Connell
2. Craig Baxter
3. Blair Adams
4. Jon Shaw
5. Dillon Morse
6. Phil Turnbull
7. Ursene Mouanda
8. Robert Briggs
9. Gavin Cogdon
10. Matty Pattison
11. Josh Gillies

In Celtic's last match, the 1-0 home win over Workington, Celtic lined up as:
1. Jake Turner
2. Liam Tongue
3. Scott Wilson
4. Glenn Rule
5. Danny Brady
6. Michael Clarke
7. Matthew Wolfenden
8. Tom Brown
9. Scott Bakkor
10. John Marsden
11. Ross Dent

Celtic have bolstered their attack with the arrival of Chris Sharp from Curzon Ashton added to Glenn Rule and Luke Wall now being available for selection, although Tom Brown is doubtful after picking up a knock in Celtic's first defeat of the campaign at Stafford. For their part, South Shields are still looking to pick up their first away points of the season, and have a full squad to choose from.
