Stalybridge Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated striker Will Goodwin, who joins us on loan from Chester.

The 18-year-old striker signed his first senior contract with Chester in June 2020 having progressed through The Seals academy where he has been since nine years old.

Last season, he captained Chester’s youth team and scored six goals in three games during the FA Youth Cup.

He made his Chester first-team debut aged 17 in January in a FA Trophy fixture vs Royston Town and has been training with Chester’s first-team squad.

Celtic Manger Simon Haworth explained his excitement at having Will join on loan, he said: “We needed a presence up top but also someone with ability, who has good movement and a high work rate too.

“Will fits into that and we are excited to have him here, he’s highly thought of at Chester and I would like to thank Anthony Johnson and Chester for there co-operation in helping us to secure the loan.”

Will’s loan deal will run until January 5, 2021.
