Celtic can confirm the signing of exciting centre-half Matty Makinson.
Matty played the full 90 minutes in Celtic’s 4-2 win over AFC Liverpool and joins following a short spell with FC United of Manchester.
Prior to joining FC United, the 23-year-old spent two seasons with Colne.
Matty started his football career with Everton before signing for Blackburn Rovers. He also had a stint with Cardiff before joining Warrington Town.
He spent part of last season on loan with Atherton Collieries and did in fact score against Celtic, scoring the opener in our 4-1 defeat vs Colls.
On signing Matty, Celtic Manager Simon Haworth said: “We’ve got a few young centre-halves but we probably needed that extra centre-half around.
“We’ve had a look at Matty, we’ll take him in and we’ll give him a chance.â€
