Stalybridge Celtic are thrilled to announce the signing of Chris Holroyd, who joins us until the end of the 2020/21 season from Chorley.

Chris has made 30 appearances for the National League side this season, scoring nine goals.

The striker who is originally from Macclesfield, progressed through the youth system at Crewe before moving on to Chester.

A move to League One Brighton & Hove Albion followed before loan spells at Stevenage and Bury in League Two.

In 2011 he joined Preston and Morecambe, whilst also having a loan at Macclesfield Town.

He joined The Silkmen permanently in 2013, scoring 25 goals in 149 appearances.

He joined National League rivals Wrexham in 2017, scoring 16 goals in 60 appearances before most recently joining Chorley.

Celtic Manager Simon Haworth was pleased to secure Chris's signature, he said: "We are delighted to have him on board. He has quality experience and has played a high level.

"He'll hopefully score some goals, we've been thinking about next year to build a team with Chris part of it, that's the idea.

"Chris is a good player with a good pedigree, he's a fit lad, a lot fitter than his age suggests!"
