Celtic can confirm that Goalkeeper Alex Fojticek has returned to parent club Manchester United following the completion of his loan.

Alex's loan ended on January 5th, 2020 and he returns to Manchester United having played in 29 games for Celtic this season, only missing one game.

He had made 28 appearances consecutively for Celtic. The 19-year-old kept seven clean sheets in those games, having played in every Celtic game but one so far this season.

Manager Simon Haworth was full of praise for Alex who became an integral part of Celtic's seven game unbeaten run. He said: "Alex was a pleasure to have in the dressing room, he was a big part of the team spirit we've built this season.

"Alex is a fantastic young lad and we wish him every success."

Celtic Secretary Andrew Betts echoed the thoughts of Simon Haworth, he said: "Alex and Manchester United were a pleasure to work with.

"Alex had a fantastic attitude and we wish him all the best for the future. He is always welcome at Bower Fold."

The club would like to thank Alex for his efforts at the club and wish him the very best for the future.
