Stalybridge Celtic are thrilled to announce that former striker Craig Hobson has re-joined the club following his departure from Ashton United.

Hobson joined Stalybridge from Kendal Town and made his Stalybridge debut on September 8, 2009, scoring his first goal for the club 11 days later in a 5-3 away victory at Alfreton, who he would then go on to play for.

During the 2011/2012 season, Craig netted 16 times for Stalybridge and was rewarded with a move to Stockport County in 2012.

Craig scored six goals in 26 appearances for County before leaving in 2013 to join Guiseley.

Craig then had a two-year spell at Chester and since then, has played for Altrincham, Aberystwyth, Alfreton and Stalybridge league rivals, Ashton United.

Hobson was also a former youth team player at Sheffield United before moving to Kendal Town where he scored 26 goals during the 2008/2009 season.

Craig's signature makes that nine signings for Stalybridge so far this summer.
