Stalybridge Celtic are delighted to welcome Jake Charles to the Bower Fold set up ahead of the upcoming season.

Born in Leeds but formerly of Huddersfield Town & Barnsley football clubs, Charles impressed in the number ten position on Tuesday night as Celtic drew 1-1 with Huddersfield Town.

The Wales U21 international is a versatile forward who can play either on the wing or upfront when required to do so.

Having represented his country at U17's, U19's & most recently at U21 level, Charles has no doubt inherited some of his grandfather's ability to play football.

Jake is grandson of John Charles - a Welsh international striker who played for both Leeds and Juventus during a long and successful, career.

Commenting on his side's latest addition to the squad, Manager Steve Burr added: "We have fought off lots of National League & National League North clubs to get Jake's signature.

"He is young and hungry after being released by Barnsley and will be a great signing for Celtic".
